St Just is a unique Edwardian apartment situated in the heart of the city. Minutes from the university and a short stroll into the city centre, it is just a five minute drive from SilverSprings. It makes an ideal base for longer holiday lets, while also suited to guests on business in the city or perhaps those looking to relocate to Exeter and in need of a temporary residence.
St Just was built in the late 1800’s as the private residence of a prosperous sea-merchant who had business in the city related to the international maritime trade of its time at Exeter Quayside and in recent years has been developed into 4 private apartments.
The apartment still retains many of its period features, including the floor to ceiling hardwood panelling of the original dining room, the decorative wooden flooring, along with the service bells for the butler and maid.
The family bathroom was once a pantry storing preserves and wine for the merchant’s famous dinner parties. Hidden amongst the wooden panelling in the living room are secret safes carefully concealing items or documents of value and some of which are now on display in the hallway of the apartment. The large master bedroom was once a drawing room where the ladies would retire after luncheon either to read or embroider and enjoy the late afternoon sun.
The apartment has been loving restored to its original glory but incorporating all of today’s facilities, which include Wi Fi internet access, large flat screen TV with DVD player and a modern, fully equipped kitchen with gas hob, fan oven, 'fridge freezer, microwave, washer dryer and dishwasher.
St Just has been beautifully decorated to match the style and period of the property to ensure a comfortable and pleasurable stay. The apartment has its own private parking, security entrance system and use of the communal gardens.
